2010 Fargo Street Fair Review

Filed under: Sarah\'s Surprises — by Sarah @ 10:40 am

I really enjoyed the Fargo Street Fair this year, although I was a little nervous about going, since the little one was fussy.

However, I’m really glad I went.

There were a lot of new vendors, and a lot of old favorites.

I was surprised to see 3 or 4 people who were selling soap, instead of the usual one.

Of course, some of the people were selling soap and other things, so that probably made it a little more profitable.

I ended up buying a multicolored tutu for our little one’s first birthday, and of course she wore it out, since we had to try it on her. The tutu was $22, and I think that is a great deal, especially since we got to try it on. I think $14 is about the lowest price I’ve seen on tutu’s on Etsy, and I don’t think they were multicolored.

Now, I just have to find her a birthday shirt and some tights. Too bad it’s hard to find black shirts for toddlers.

I also got a rainbow stacker/puzzle for her $12. I’d been looking at one on Etsy after reading a review about some kids who used them as all sorts of things, including doll hats. To be perfectly honest, Jeff and I both liked the flower stackers better, but we thought she would like the rainbow one better, since it has the most pieces.

Jeff really liked Squeaky Wheel Pottery – the potter’s with the face mugs – they were even making some goblets while we were their.

If you aren’t into face mugs, they have regular pottery – we bought an apple baker for the little one’s baked apples – and Fairy houses, which are very pretty, but I’d love it if they came in more colors.

As always there was lots of beautiful jewelry, lots of lawn decorations, and paintings and as my husband says, lots of face mugs, and face jugs. Can you tell they are one of our favorites?

The only thing we wanted that we didn’t find was jalapeno cheese curds.

All in all, we had a great day.

I’m not sure if we’ll be going back this year, but you never know.

I did tell my husband that he could sneak over there to buy me a picture from Vincent Fleming with a ship and an octopus – I think the name was Kracken, but it’s kind of hard for him to sneak away from me for that long.

I do have a confession, I knew I wouldn’t be buying any jewelry this year, and with the little one’s jogging stroller in tow – she only wanted her daddy for the last half of the fair, and it was way to hot for her in the Mei Tai baby carrier, it was hard to get into the booths, so I didn’t pore over the jewelry as much as I usually do.

We still had a lot of fun, and if you go, I’m sure you’ll have almost as much fun.

If you do go, I’d love to hear about what you bought, or what you wished you could have bought – like the giant turtle sculpture we love.

Well, I’m off to calm a fussy baby.
