Masque Apothecary

Filed under: Bath and Body,Sarah\'s Surprises — by Sarah @ 8:05 am

A whole store with nothing but facial masks? Sounds great to me!

Masque Apothecary offers 9 different clay based masques – all you have to do is add liquid. Now I don’t have to worry about my masques drying out on me before I use them up!

I should probably start with the oil balance mask for practical reasons, but I’m leaning towards the Cacao Noir because it seems so much more fun.

Rayneforest Shampoo Bar

After the Rayne offers a ton of handmade soaps – and shampoo bars.

I’ve never had the nerve to try a shampoo bar, but After the Rayne might just push me over the edge.

Dodo Boat Soap Lip Balm

I’m on a major lip balm kick, and DoDo Boat’s Smores Lip Balm sounds lovely.

Or should I try the Maine Blueberry, or Strawberry Smoothie?

So many choices, so little time.

Dodo Boat Soap also has an unflavored lip balm, if that’s what you’re looking for.

How do you decide which sites to feature?

Filed under: Info & Updates — by Sarah @ 12:55 pm

I know a few people are wondering how I decide what items I feature on the blog.

First I have to like the items that I’m featuring. I love to find unique items, although that can be hard with cosmetics, and candles.

Second, the site has to be a site that I would feel comfortable ordering from myself.

That means that shoppers have to be able to order items directly from the site, without having to email the owner with a list of items they’d like, and wait for a response from the site owner before they can order.

It also means that shoppers have to be able to order directly from the site without waiting for a shipping invoice to be sent seperately.

I know that not being able to order directly from a site when they want to is a pet peeve for many shoppers, and I don’t want to feature sites that would annoy me, or you.

I also like to see information about the owners and the business on the site, so that I can get an idea about who is running the business, and how long they have been around.

I like to feature sites that are easy to navigate, because if it’s hard for me to navigate the site, it’s going to be harder for me to find something that I like enough to mention to you!

The site has to have a professional flair – although some banners and links to other sites are ok, if I feature a site I have to think that the business owners are serious about their business, and if there’s a lot of stuff cluttering up the home page, and confusing me, then I’m not going to spend too much time looking at the site.

I have never monetary recieved compensation for featuring any of the etailers in the blog.

I have recieved products to review for the blog, and of course you can figure out which products these are by looking at the reviews. Some of the items I review are purchased by me, but some are sent to me by the business owners.

If you have any more questions about the sites I feature in the blogs, or if you know of any sites that I should feature, please leave a comment, and let me know about them.

Valhalla Soap Company's Royal Chai Soap

I love the dark color of Valhalla Soap Company’s Royal Chai Soap.

I don’t see too many dark red, or burgandy soaps, and my husband loves chai, so I had to share this one with you.

On a Friday's Cynthia Earrings

With a name like On a Friday, I was definitely expecting whimsical items, I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the When It Strikes Earings and Necklace, and the Cynthia earrings are breathaking as well. Pearls and iolite provide whimsical earrings, with a grown up feel.
